We taped an in-studio set for Sirius 29/XM 50’s The Loft back in…September or October, I think the same day we did the Tiny Desk Concert for NPR. I'm really proud of this record. It's dreamy and enveloping, and took us places we never thought we would go. We recorded it over the past two years in Texas, NYC, Germany, and the UK.
As usual with Loma, we wrote the music together—though I wrote a hefty chunk of the lyrics.
There's also a beautiful video, directed by our singer Emily Cross, for the first single "How It Starts" (which can be found in the link). It has a surprise ending, which should answer any questions about touring in the near term.
Other than this, I'm busy as ever. There'll be some real Shearwater news soon—and I'm still working on a new book about the once and future life of Antarctica.
