My old friend (and Blue Water White Death collaborator) Jamie Stewart’s take on “Immaculate”. Jamie’s the mastermind behind the wild and incredible Xiu Xiu, and you can see his fingerprints all over this thing, which is like a 3-hour psychological road movie compressed into just under 3 minutes. As the new album approaches, we’re supposed to “engage” you by sending ever-more-urgent reminders that it’s about to exist in forms you can buy (or steal). But we think the world has enough exclamation points already. So for the next while, we’re just going to send you moments of calm from JM’s recent journeys to Antarctica and Chile. When you see them, we urge you to turn off your computer, put down your phone, and step outside for at least five minutes. Returning to the internet is optional.

Just got done typing out these lyrics for people who supported the crowdfund for the new album. This typewriter is a lot more finicky now than it was when I used it to make The Golden Dossier! But we wrestled each other into submission.
It’s funny how you notice things when you’re typing in your own lyrics from many years ago…there are definitely a few words I need to retire—I tend to fall back on them. But mostly I felt glad (and lucky) that the fellow who wrote these is still around and still writing songs. A deep thanks to everyone who’s supported us over the years, and I’m looking forward to sharing new music soon (at last!). JM
Everyone wish a big Happy Birthday to JM on a big birthday! He has just returned from his Antarctic trip, having traversed 5 continents in 3 months. He is exhausted. I bet he'll have more to say soon about his travels and the work we still have left to get this record out to you all. Stay tuned... (EL)
