As I write, we’re headed for Europe for our first tour since the release of Animal Joy. Many of the places we’re going are old friends – like Scala in London, Stereo in Glasgow, the Maroquinerie in Paris, Comet in Berlin, Bronson in lovely Ravenna, to name a few. But some are brand new; Istanbul, Athens, Rome, and Ljubljana are among the places we’ve never played (or even been) before. Looking forward to some ‘good van time’ (as Thor always said) with our ace engineer and jack-of-all-trades Phil Jones, the heartbreakingly excellent Julie Doiron, and friends we’ve gathered over the years.
To coincide with the tour, we’ve released our second video for the album, “You As You Were”, directed by Alix Lambert, featuring costumes by our frequent collaborator Nicholas Kahn. It premiered on Stereogum, and we’ll soon host it here as well. See you on the other side. – JM
