It’s springtime in Texas, and everything seems possible.
For the first time in several years, we mostly sat out SXSW, though we’ll probably to be back next year – the only SW-related performance was a live soundtrack to some footage shot by Scottish filmmaker David Mackenzie on the remote island of Tristan da Cunha last year.
We’ve just started work on a new and very different album, about which we’ll have some major news soon.

Just got done typing out these lyrics for people who supported the crowdfund for the new album. This typewriter is a lot more finicky now than it was when I used it to make The Golden Dossier! But we wrestled each other into submission.
It’s funny how you notice things when you’re typing in your own lyrics from many years ago…there are definitely a few words I need to retire—I tend to fall back on them. But mostly I felt glad (and lucky) that the fellow who wrote these is still around and still writing songs. A deep thanks to everyone who’s supported us over the years, and I’m looking forward to sharing new music soon (at last!). JM
Everyone wish a big Happy Birthday to JM on a big birthday! He has just returned from his Antarctic trip, having traversed 5 continents in 3 months. He is exhausted.
