Work continues on the new album in the awesome summer heat; we should have some pictures up soon. We enjoyed Barcelona and the Primavera festival back in May, along with our dates in the UK and northern Europe, to which we’re returning for a short run in September, including our first show in Leeds with our old friends Clinic. Also added a few US dates, with a couple more TBA. (Major US touring should come in early 2010 along with the record.) We’ve also capitulated to the modern world and joined twitter.
Available for preorder now at your friendly local record shop, on your favorite internet music service, and/or at our Bandcamp page.
A happy new year to all of you from Antarctica, where I’m deep in book research and tagging along with a crew of mad scientists. But looking forward to returning later this year, carrying stories and songs to share with you. 2026 will have 100 to 200 percent more new Shearwater albums than 2025 did—and maybe even some shows, at last. All the very best to you and yours — JM / SW ... See MoreSee Less

Dear Friends,
Here’s a small, happy bit of news: last week, with help from @stevefallone and the great folks at @sterlingsound, we finally mastered our upcoming album, The New World. We’re eager to let it out in the world next year…and a little relieved to stop listening so closely after many months of work.
A companion album is also nearly done. but that’ll have to wait until I return from Antarctica, where I’m heading now for book research. (If you like, you can follow my journey here: [follow-polarstern.awi.de/].)
All of us at Shearwater HQ wish you a peaceful holiday with people you care about—or on your own, if you prefer—in this ridiculous time.

TL;DR - Bandcamp Friday stocking stuffer discount bundles!!
Dear Friends,
We hope these dark days are nevertheless treating you well, and that you have at least a bit of rest in store before the joys and horrors of 2026 lurch into gear. (As for us, we’re about to master a new album, and hope/expect that later next year we’ll finally return to live performing).
Since it’s Bandcamp Friday, but we don’t have anything new for you yet... for today only, we’re discounting a few of our favorite bundles: both collections of Quarantine Music, Live Albums 2008-2016, and our bundle of piano sheet music. Plus, we’re reducing our Bowie’s Berlin Trilogy Tote Bags from $10 to $5.
We hear music downloads make a great stocking stuffer.
In the meantime, all of us at team SW send the very best to you and yours this month—and we look forward to sharing new music with you soon.
